She rescued the book from a rubbish pile. I was delighted to be the new recipient. It has a few beautiful plates and is an easy read.

    Lichens for Vegetable Dying by Bolton, Eileen. B T Batsford Ltd, Hardcover. Fair/Fair. Ex-library. Stamps and marks to front pages, title page and copyright page. Dust jacket quite wrinkled and worn. Tape marks and some stamps to endpages. One blank rear endpaper missing. Pages with some edgewear but otherwise clean. 63 pages.   To dye Pink from a bright yellow Lichen (Parmelia parietina). Mordant the wool with 3% of Bichromate of Potash, then boil with the lichen for 1 hour or more. To dye Brown from Crotal. Boil the wool with an equal quantity of lichen for 1 or /2 hours. No mordant is required. To dye red purple from Cudbear and Logwood.
